For this project I designed a geometric illustration of a jaguar inspired in the beautiful Huichol folk art. Huichol people create handmade wood shapes covered with very small beads creating colorful patterns and symbols that are meaningful to their religion. One of the most popular shapes created by the Huicholes is the jaguar, an animal that held a significant religious meaning in many Mesoamerican civilizations. I have a great admiration for this ancient folk art and the craftsmanship to create such beautiful and meaningful pieces of art.
